The Pirate Nylon Hat

We’ve spent the last twelve plus months plus working on designing and developing the perfect 100% nylon hat. Perfect in terms of what is uniquely functional and tasteful, specifically to us at Pirate. A product that can be worn with ease, in the design studio to the art museum. Essentially, the work done over the last year was to design and build the perfect canvas for our art to live. 

Our Co-Founder David, a key proponent and advocate for the nylon hat swears by the functionality of the product, having wear tested it for months. In order to get some imagery of the hat on body and in the space we imagine this being worn, we visited Zinque - DTLA, a local favorite of ours, where David would partake in his go to beverage on a hot summer evening, an affogato. 

The setting of Zinque compliments the Ocean Blue color way and perfectly executed 3D chain stitch embroidery of our signature “PW” branding, in a clean and simple white thread. An intentionally low profile, unstructured front panel with the subtle support of the inner mesh panel that makes this hat sophisticated and easy to wear in any setting. 

What excites us about the execution and design of this product is what is under and inside of the hat, for the internal wearer. A Cannoli Cream colored under brim, an elegant Muddy River colored cotton twill sweat absorbent sweatband, a mesh front panel to protect foreheads from potential embroidery irritation, and a Pirate branded Cannoli Cream colored inner taping. 

We’re beyond proud and excited to make this product available to you all and are looking forward to it becoming a brand staple with the intent of implementing unique Pirate Art on this canvas in the near future. 

To compliment the Pirate “PW” Chain Stitched Nylon Hats, we are also releasing two graphic tees that resemble Pirate and Studio Cannoli's pillars of inspiration of Art, Athletics, and Travel.
