Getty Museum Partners with Pirate Worldwide

We are proud to announce the partnership between the Getty Museum and Pirate Worldwide, an art house based in Los Angeles that tells meaningful stories while designing beautiful products.

Through this collaboration, the Getty Museum is sharing access to its art assets with Pirate. As creatives, designers, and artists, what excites Pirate most is the freedom the Getty has allowed—the ability to select and curate artworks that resonate with them and reinterpret those works through their own lens. It’s a very modern, hip-hop-inspired “sampling” approach to design. An approach that is true to Pirate’s DNA.

Because this is a multi-year partnership, we are in a rare position to tell the story of the Getty Museum through Pirate’s lens over months and years, rather than days and weeks. At a time when collaborations happen daily between anybody and everybody, Pirate and the Getty are embracing a Less is More, Depth over Width approach to partnerships.

Through this collaboration, the Getty and Pirate hope to inspire and educate current and future generations of creatives, designers, artists, and entrepreneurs with the goal of bringing more people to the Getty: those who may have never heard of it, never had the opportunity to visit, or who feel intimidated by museums altogether. Pirate aims to open the door for those hesitant to knock, and to introduce the door itself to those who don’t even know it exists.

With this partnership, Pirate and the Getty are taking steps toward what we believe to be a shared mission: creating a Space for Timeless Imagination.

The Getty Museum Collection: Designed by Pirate, titled A Space for Timeless Imagination, will be available Friday, October 17, 2025, at PIRATEWORLDWIDE.com and at The Getty Center — Plaza Level, Main Entrance Hall Pop-Up Store, beginning Tuesday, October 22, 2025.
